Introducing our latest Music Zoo run with the Martin Custom Shop; classic shapes and models we’re all familiar with finished in a unique orange color which we’ve dubbed “Vintage Tangerine”. <br><br>’Inspiration struck one day while browsing through an old Martin book in our Music Zoo library and found a picture of an 0-42 from 1898 with a darker than usual toner on the spruce top. It was quite literally called “Orange” in the 1897 price list. We thought it would be a fun twist to apply this toner to a modern Martin, and the results are fabulous. This is essentially a Custom Shop D-28 model with the ‘Vintage Tangerine” toner over the spruce top, with a gloss natural finish to show off the rosewood back and sides. The guitar has modern adhesive construction and a Golden Era modified low oval neck profile which gives you a comfortable playing experience for hours on end.
